Asymmetric Investing Holiday Schedule

I’ll be back before you know it.

The holiday chaos has hit the Hoium house, which is why I’m a day late with this update. I have lots to say, I’ll save most of it for the new year. Here’s a quick update on the schedule over the next couple of weeks.

  • I’m taking this week off for the Christmas holiday, one of three weeks I take off each year.

  • The normal schedule will resume January 2, 2026, when I publish my buys for the month.

    • Expect a year-in-review with the final performance of the Asymmetric Portfolio in 2025 after the market closes for the year, but the date of that is TBD.

I hope everyone has a Happy Holiday, and I appreciate you all being part of Asymmetric Investing.

On to a quick update.

Weekly Update

The stock market is bumbling to the end of the year without a Santa Claus rally, despite the Fed cutting interest rates. A lack of economic data and uncertainty about the payoff from AI investments have made investors a little nervous.

The Asymmetric Portfolio has seen volatility, as well as some of the high fliers of the year come down to earth.

I’ll give my outlook for the year in a couple of weeks, but the pullback in some growth stocks is making them more attractive, but I’m still staying out of the speculative space.

In Case You Missed It

  • The AI Confidence Game: The AI buildout is more of a financing project than a tech one, and I showed how it can go wrong.

  • Interview with Robinhood’s Head of Product: I interviewed Robinhood’s Head of Product and asked about the company’s vision, how prediction markets fit with investing, and when AI will do our taxes.

  • Coinbase’s “System Update”: Coinbase isn’t just a trading app, and with this update, its vision of being the center of our financial lives is becoming clearer.

Have a Happy Holiday, and you’ll hear from me in a little over a week!
