The Biggest Disruption of 2025 Is Already Here

Autonomous driving will be top of mind in 2025.

Autonomous driving is one of the themes for which I’ve invested heavily in the Asymmetric Portfolio. The second stock I covered was General Motors, but it wasn’t GM the manufacturer that I was interested in, Cruise is where the 10x opportunity lies.

I’m working on a long report on autonomous driving that I’ll publish early next month, but in the meantime, it’s worth updating just how quickly this industry is moving. Autonomous vehicles are here. The business is scaling. And everyone involved is moving as fast as they can to grab a position in the market.

Waymo Takes a Big Lead

Right now, no company comes close to Waymo (owned by Alphabet) in autonomous driving. The company has driven millions of miles fully autonomously and has services running in San Francisco, Phoenix, and Los Angeles with Austin, Atlanta, and Miami coming online in 2025.

I say Waymo is the leader because it has the most advanced technology and the biggest fleet of vehicles today. An incredible 150,000 rides are being completed every week.

But long-time readers will know that my skepticism about Waymo is more about their business model, which matters more than technology to investors.
